We are all familiar with inflammation whether it is psoriasis or a skin pustule (acne).  but you can also have inflammation in your arteries which you don't see.  Unfortunately, inflammation in your coronary arteries can lead to a heart attack.  Certain medical conditions are associated with inflammation in the arteries such as diabetes and obesity.

A pustule on the skin often heals after it drains.  However, a pustule in your coronary artery results in a different outcome.  When it releases its contents into the bloodstream, a blood clot forms around it and often leads to a heart attack.  Reducing inflammation is a key component in the strategy of preventing heart attacks.
